Australian Artist Steve Baird

This site offers visitors an insight into the world in which Steve Baird lives, works and paints. His artworks are the manifestation of a fortunate life, a life of adventure in the ancient landscape of Australia, the earth's driest inhabited continent. A landscape shaped and defined by the water that is often absent, a landscape etched with the marks of great geo upheavals and the footprints and dreams of mankind.

Steve’s view of the world is a personal perspective of myths and histories half buried and half revealed in the spectacle of nature.

As a practicing artist I have travelled far and wide across Australia, walked on country, camped on country and rolled out my swag. I thank the custodians and I acknowledge the traditional owners of country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, culture and community. I pay my respect to Elders past and present.
